Lean On Me

So, tonight, I was reading something funny and laughing, and Marie said, "Mom, that's the first time I've heard you laugh since Aunt [Beloved Friend] died!", which, of course, made me start crying again, because I wanted to send the link to Beloved Friend and I couldn't.
*******

Sometimes in our lives
We all have pain
We all have sorrow
But, if we are wise
We know that there's
Always tomorrow.

Lean on me
When you're not strong
I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For, it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on.

Please, swallow your pride
If I have things
You need to borrow
For no one can fill
those of your needs
that you won't let show.

You just call on me sister
When you need a hand
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have a problem
That you'll understand
We all need somebody to lean on.

Lean on me
When you're not strong
I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on.

You just call on me sister
when you need a hand
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have a problem
That you'll understand
We all need somebody to lean on.

If there is a load
You have to bear
That you can't carry
I'm right up the road
I'll share your load
If you just call me.

I wish it would have worked. I miss you, Beloved Friend.

R- First of all, I am so sorry that I have not commented sooner. I read about your loss on Twitter and I read your beautiful tribute post below and please know that you have been in my thoughts and prayers. Your tribute post brought tears to my eyes. I hope that one day I am half as good of a friend to someone as you were to your beloved friend.
Love,
Elizabeth aka edbteach

You have been in my thoughts all week -- sending more hugs your way.

(That link to the 'something funny' was awesome!)
